After the fire that displaced more than 50 people in San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood, an organization said it is committed to helping those who lost everything.
The affected residents are temporarily staying in a hotel, but their main concern is finding a permanent place to live.
That is why Telemundo 48 spoke Wednesday with Canal Alliance, which confirmed they are doing everything possible to secure housing for these families.
“Finding permanent housing is going to be the hardest job because we live in a county where there is almost no affordable housing, and that is a big problem,” said Omar Carrera, Chief Executive Officer of Canal Alliance.
For now, officials confirmed that displaced residents will be able to remain at the hotel for more than 15 days.
