Citizenship Classes
Our Adult Education Program offers citizenship classes that integrate civics knowledge with English as a Second Language teaching practices in an inclusive environment that prepares students to pass both a citizenship exam and the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) interview process.
Schedule: The citizenship class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM. We only accept students who can attend 2 days per week.
Classes will be online using Zoom. The classes and books are free. Students without computers who qualify will receive a Chromebook and hotspot. (Subject to availability)
We only accept students who have applied for citizenship with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services office (USCIS) and are waiting for a naturalization interview.
This application is only for the citizenship class. If you want to file a legal case for citizenship, please contact Canal Alliance’s Immigration Legal Services team for a consultation.
Our spring semester classes are full, so we are no longer accepting applications for fall.
Spring classes will start on May 20, 2024. If you are interested in taking a class in the spring, please check this web page in mid-March for information on how to apply.
