At Canal Alliance, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our University Prep (UP!) program supports Latino students from sixth grade through high school with afterschool academic enrichment, mentorship, and social-emotional support designed to help them succeed in school and beyond.
UP! primarily supports students earning B and C grades who often fall between traditional academic support systems. While they may not qualify for intensive interventions or advanced programs, they continue to face barriers that can impact their long-term success. Through academic support, mentorship, social-emotional development, and meaningful educational opportunities, UP! helps students stay on track and prepare for high school graduation, college, and future careers.
Many UP! students are English language learners, come from low-income households, or are the first in their families to navigate the U.S. education system. With personalized academic guidance, tutoring, homework support, and family engagement, students build the skills and confidence they need to excel in the classroom and prepare for college.
After graduating from high school, every UP! student continues their journey through our College to Career (C2C) Program, where they receive ongoing academic advising, scholarship support, and individualized coaching throughout college.
