Donate via a Donor Advised Fund
An increasingly popular method of charitable giving, a donor-advised fund (DAF) can be an easy and flexible way to manage your giving and help you achieve your strategic philanthropic goals.

Make a Gift of Stock
Making a gift of appreciated stock or mutual funds is a tax-wise way to support Canal Alliance.

Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution
Give from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a tax-efficient way for those 70 ½ or older to donate from their IRA, while lowering their taxable adjusted gross income. For those who are at least 73 years old, QCDs count toward the IRA owner’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. The IRS allows up to $108,000 in QCD donations from an IRA. Any amount above this limit will not qualify as a tax-free QCD.
How an IRA charitable rollover gift works
- Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Canal Alliance.
- Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work
- Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.

Have Your Employer Match Your Gifts
You can double or sometimes triple your giving to Canal Alliance through your employer’s matching gift program.
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees. You can search here:

Create a Fundraiser for Canal Alliance
