Canal Alliance’s Youth and Adult Education programs equip the Marin residents with digital and career skills

Canal Alliance’s youth and adult education programs provide essential academic, career, and digital skills training for low-income Latino youth and adults in Marin. Through these programs, participants build the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to succeed in school, the workforce, and daily life in an increasingly digital world.

In our programs, youth in grades six to 12 engage in hands-on digital learning experiences such as coding, game design, and digital arts, while older youth and college students strengthen career readiness skills connected to technology-based career pathways. Adult learners receive practical digital literacy instruction focused on online communication, job applications, and everyday technology use, along with individualized support to build foundational computer skills.

Across both programs, students benefit from access to laptops, one-on-one digital assistance, and technology-focused enrichment opportunities. For our youth, this includes a career exploration event that connects high school and college students with mentorship and hands-on learning in the tech field, and a Middle School hackathon that introduces younger students to coding, problem-solving, and STEM pathways.

With renewed and continued support from Comcast since 2019, this strong and impactful partnership continues to make these expanded learning opportunities possible — helping ensure that youth and adults in the Canal community have equitable access to technology, education, and pathways to long-term success.
