Creating Lasting Housing Opportunities for Our Community

US BANK

At Canal Alliance, we know that safe, stable, and affordable housing is the foundation for healthy families and thriving communities. Every day, we work alongside immigrant families to help them navigate Marin County’s housing challenges through housing navigation, tenant education, rental assistance, and affordable housing initiatives. Together, these efforts help families remain in their homes, build stability, and create brighter futures.

As the leader of Canal Alliance’s housing program, Yolanda has played a vital role in advancing this work and supporting families in our community. Now well into a year-long leadership fellowship through NALCAB (National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders), Yolanda is gaining new knowledge on national best practices and practical tools through peer learning opportunities.

“Our families deserve more than a roof over their heads; they deserve the opportunity to feel rooted, secure, and hopeful about their future. This fellowship is an opportunity for me to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back to Canal Alliance so we can continue building stronger pathways to housing stability for the families and communities we serve,” says Yolanda.

All of Canal Alliance’s work to advance affordable housing in Marin, with Yolanda’s leadership, is made possible by a host of funders, U.S. Bank among them. Their investment strengthens our capacity to support immigrant families and builds stronger pathways to housing stability in Marin’s Latino and immigrant communities.
