Canal Alliance’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program provides low-income adults in Marin County with a strong pathway to meaningful, living-wage careers in the healthcare sector.
Through this 12-week program, participants receive classroom instruction, supervised clinical training, individualized case management, and job readiness support designed to help them successfully complete their CNA certification and transition into employment. In addition, the program addresses the barriers that can make it difficult for adult learners to pursue career training by providing responsive guidance from enrollment and training through certification, job placement, and retention.
Our Director of Economic Mobility, Air Gallegos, mentions “I’m proud of what our CNA program makes possible for the adults we serve. For many participants, this is an opportunity to build a meaningful career in healthcare, earn a living wage, and create greater stability for themselves and their families.”
We are deeply grateful to partners like Kaiser Permanente for its generous support of Canal Alliance’s CNA program. This partnership makes it possible for Canal Alliance to expand economic opportunities for Latinos and immigrants in Marin while strengthening the healthcare workforce with skilled professionals who bring valuable cultural and community knowledge to the field.
