Access to educational opportunities and living-wage jobs is critical to supporting Canal Alliance clients on their journeys out of poverty.
Through our college access and success programming for youth, adult education, career certification training, and entrepreneurship programs, we support clients in gaining the skills and qualifications they need to access better jobs and build financial security for themselves and their families.
These programs are designed not just to provide education, but to offer pathways to ongoing economic mobility. By investing in education and skill-building, we support individuals in creating lasting change, improving their quality of life, and building a legacy of financial security for themselves and their families.
Youth Education
A college education should be within reach for every Latino young person, and Canal Alliance is dedicated to making that a reality. Through our after-school programming for students in grades six through 12, and our college and career success programs, we ensure students succeed academically, graduate high school ready for college, succeed in college, and excel in their early careers.
By providing comprehensive, long-term support, we are helping to break down barriers and create pathways to success for Latino students, both in higher education and in their future careers.
Adult Education
Canal Alliance offers free, in-person English, Digital Literacy, and Citizenship Exam Preparation classes designed to help adults gain the language and skills essential for achieving their educational and career goals.
These classes provide participants with the foundational tools they need to succeed in today’s workforce, access better job opportunities, support their children’s educational success, and navigate the modern world more effectively.
Entrepreneurship Programs
Our entrepreneurship programs, offered in Spanish, equip clients with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully run a small business. We provide training on the fundamentals of business management, including financial planning, marketing, and operations, while also offering guidance on accessing resources, building business networks, and navigating legal requirements.
By empowering individuals with the tools to launch and grow their own businesses, we help them create financial independence, contribute to the local economy, and build wealth for themselves and their families.
Career Certification Programs
Our career certification programs are designed to equip clients with the skills and credentials needed for employment in high-demand fields that offer living wage salaries, benefits, and ongoing opportunities for career advancement. These programs provide hands-on training and industry-specific knowledge, ensuring that participants are fully prepared to enter the workforce and succeed in their chosen fields.
