We are thrilled to celebrate our CEO, Omar Carrera, for being named a recipient of the San Francisco Foundation’s 2026 Community Leadership Award. This well-deserved recognition reflects Omar’s unwavering commitment to advancing equity, opportunity, and belonging for immigrant families, as well as his belief that lasting change is only possible through authentic partnership. Under Omar’s leadership, Canal Alliance has strengthened its impact by working alongside residents, community organizations, philanthropic partners, and public agencies to address some of the Bay Area’s most pressing challenges, from economic mobility and housing to climate resilience and immigrant inclusion. We are especially grateful to the San Francisco Foundation, a valued partner in this work, for recognizing not only Omar’s leadership but also the power of collaboration and community-driven solutions.
