We’re honored to share that Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) recently released The Heart of the Sector, an in‑depth research report and practical guide focused on nonprofit worker well‑being — and that Canal Alliance is featured as a case study in this important assessment. Being included reflects our commitment to investing in staff, strengthening organizational culture, and aligning resources with the real conditions nonprofit workers face every day.
The report names a challenge we strongly agree with: when nonprofit workers thrive, organizations are stronger and communities benefit — yet too many staff across the sector face economic insecurity and burnout amid rising costs, generational transition, and major shifts in public funding and policy. We’re grateful to NFF for naming these realities clearly and for lifting up promising, people‑centered approaches.
