Grahame Lesh will bring his series of all-star concerts celebrating his dad and late Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh home this spring. “Unbroken Chain: A Celebration Of The Life And Music Of Phil Lesh” expands westward with a three-night stand at the historic San Francisco venue The Fillmore March 20 – 22.
Each show will feature a rotating cast of special guests joining hosts Grahame Lesh & Friends for performances of songs from the Grateful Dead songbook. Grahame Lesh enlisted Eric Krasno, Barry Sless, Benmont Tench, Jason Crosby, Don Was, John Molo, Elliott Peck, Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman and Dawes co-founders Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith to form the lineup for the first night, March 20.
On March 21, Grahame Lesh & Friends will perform with Nels Cline, Tom Hamilton, Jackie Greene, Oteil Burbridge Jay Lane, Cody Dickinson, Jason Crosby, Nicki Bluhm, Elliott Peck, Natalie Cressman and Jennifer Hartswick. The inaugural West Coast edition of “Unbroken Chain” will end on March 22 with Eric Krasno, Stu Allen, Oteil Burbridge, Jay Lane, Alex Koford, Rob Barraco, Holly Bowling, Karl Denson, Nicki Bluhm and Elliott Peck among those set to share the stage with Grahame Lesh.
The Fillmore shows will follow the second annual “Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life & Music of Phil Lesh” concerts at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York from March 12 through what would have been Phil Lesh’s 86th birthday on March 15.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 16 at 10 a.m. PT. The Lesh family will donate proceeds from the San Francisco concerts to the Canal Alliance, their neighbors in the canal district of San Rafael, California when Terrapin Crossroads was open.
