We are thrilled to celebrate Alex Macias, a Canal Alliance youth leader, for being recognized by MCE as one of the inaugural recipients of its Because of Youth Impact Award. This award honors young people who are making meaningful contributions to their communities and advancing a more sustainable future.
Alex was selected for his commitment to environmental stewardship, climate education, and land preservation. Through his involvement in conservation projects across Marin County and his work developing environmental education lessons for younger students, Alex has demonstrated the power of youth leadership in addressing environmental challenges. His efforts help raise awareness about issues such as sea level rise while inspiring others to care for and protect the natural spaces that sustain our communities.
