Jorge began working at Canal Alliance in August of 2010. He is a veteran of creative enterprise development, starting and running small to large-sized film, tele-production, multimedia and music businesses. His management team launched the music retail development division of video game industry giant SEGA, and he subsequently formed a start-up partnership with that team, acquiring and transforming that division into a private music and film production venture catering to local clientele and international artists alike.Jorge was a key member of the executive team launching a breakthrough web-based music/resource provider utilized by change agents, spiritual groups and others embracing music as a means to affect positive world change. He was the primary communications strategist and creator, crafting written and visual content for a variety of delivery vehicles, and he developed member services for wide range of constituents, building a vibrant and dynamic online community. Jorge has also worked in outreach and education development, as director of a faith-based, nonprofit youth program, and more recently, in a variety of capacities with other nonprofits focused on art as education.
As Development Associate, Jorge is the first line of contact for individuals seeking to donate to the organization or to learn more about Canal Alliance. He focuses on development strategies cultivating individual donors, and on organizing department information systems and methodologies to better serve donors and the organization. Jorge says, “I have a passion for catalyzing transformational change in individuals, helping make a positive difference in people's lives – what Canal Alliance is all about.”
Jorge immigrated from Cuba, and after living in and around the San Diego area for many years - where he earned a BS from San Diego State University in Radio, Television and Film Production - he now makes his home in San Rafael. For fun he enjoys leading a cinema discussion group, having a great meal, and traveling.
