Doug Campillo

DougAfter volunteering with Canal Alliance for three years, Doug joined our staff in 2004. Originally from El Salvador, he worked in the grocery industry for 33 years, and was active in his union.

As Manager, Doug oversees the Emergency Food Program -- working with volunteers and food donors, and maintaining the pantry inventory.

In his role as Family Advocate, he helps workers recover lost wages and educates them about labor laws, so his clients are less vulnerable to employer exploitation.

"I love to see that look in their eyes and the big smile on their faces when they finally get their wages.”

Doug is married and has lived for 50 years in San Francisco. He is a Vietnam veteran.

Their support enables us to address basic needs by providing emergency food and financial assistance, as well as to promote self-sufficiency and employability by providing English as a Second Language (ESL), computer literacy and financial education classes, small business development training, and other income enhancement programs.
