Individual Development Account

In partnership with Earned Assets Resource Network (EARN) we connect qualified individuals to this exciting savings opportunity.

What is an Individual Development Account?

An Individual Development Account, or IDA, is a special savings account for low-income people who qualify. Money saved in an IDA is matched 2-to-1 with donations. After the savings goal is reached ($2,000 max), savers receive 2 dollars for every one dollar saved in an IDA ($4,000 max) . IDA savings and match money can be used for a first-time home purchase, post-secondary education (college or vocational school), or to start or invest in a small business.

While in the program, which takes 2 years on average, participants will learn about budgeting, saving, banking and more. Savers also attend specific workshops that relate to their desired asset purchase.
