The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and growing in the Latino community in Marin. Inspired by this, we launched the Canal Alliance Sustainable Business Center to support the ever growing numbers of Latino entrepreneurs in Marin. The Center is located at 130 Alto Street which is just around the corner from our main front door.
Sustainability is at the core of our training because we recognize the need and opportunity for entrepreneurs to incorporate green principles into the building of a successful business. The center contains a 24-seat training room, business counselors availabe for individual meetings, and workspace for entrepreneurs.
Sustainable Small Business Training
The goal of our two four-session Small Business classes in Spanish is to help immigrant entrepreneurs expand existing and start new businesses. The first class focuses on the basics of starting a small business, covering topics ranging from finances and marketing to operations and human resources. The second class focuses on crafting a succinct, working business plan by utilizing the curriculum “The One Page Business Plan,” which builds a business plan around vision, mission, objectives, strategies and plans. Sustainable business concepts are taught and emphasized throughout the course.
Training program graduates have access to one-on-one business counseling and financial coaching, an alumni network, advanced workshops and more.
