Mujeres del Canal - Food Coop

Catering_Cooperativelogo

The “Mujeres del Canal” Catering Collective was created in 2007 as a project of the Concilio Comunitario del Canal (Canal Community Council).  With support from Canal Alliance, the collective has provided opportunities for women of San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood to draw upon their unique cultural heritage while developing new and marketable skills in the catering industry.  As part of their participation in the collective, members are provided with training from professional chefs in the areas of safe food handling, healthy cooking techniques, and food presentation.  Similarly, members are encouraged to participate in small business development and financial management programs offered through Canal Alliance.  The hard work and dedication of these women, combined with extensive support and technical assistance, has allowed the “Mujeres del Canal” Catering Collective to not only grow, but thrive.  Currently, the collective regularly caters meetings and events for a variety of Marin County non-profit organizations, in addition to private events including parties, religious celebrations, and mixers.

There are many ways to offer your support to the collective:

Consider “Mujeres del Canal” for your future catering needs.
Suggest our services to your friends, family, and co-workers.
Donate your “gently used” cooking utensils or appliances.
Volunteer your time and knowledge of the culinary and/or catering industry.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about “Mujeres del Canal” Catering Collective.  We look forward to serving you!
