
Canal Alliance has acknowledged the natural risks that we all face living on the North Bay and is taking steps as an agency to make employees, clients and the Canal neighborhood as safe, prepared, and resilient as possible. We will be providing a number of trainings free to the community.
This initiative is part of a regional effort in conjunction with San Francisco Foundation, the City of San Rafael, the County of Marin and American Red Cross, to develop a disaster preparedness and recovery plan in the neighborhood.
The dates of these trainings are:
September 8th 5:30-8:00 pm: CPR training, Red Cross, open to the community
Location: Canal Alliance
September 9th 12:30-3:30pm: Incident Command System training, Collaboration Agencies Responding to Disasters (CARD). This training will help us take action immediately following a disaster. Internal Staff training.
Location: Canal Alliance
September 10th 11:30-12:00pm: Personal Preparedness training to Parent Service Project’s “Play Group”. Open for community members.” Location: Pickleweed Park. Community Center
September 16th 12:30-1:30pm: Hour long Personal Preparedness training, Red Cross for Canal Alliance employees.

September 25th exact time TBA, all day: Disaster Community Fair, Conservation Corps and Canal Alliance collaborative community event.
Last week of September: Fire Drill, Canal Alliance with the San Rafael Fire Department.
