High School
Academic Intensive Fifty students, who formally apply and commit to Canal Alliances Youth Education and Development Program (YEDP), receive not only tutoring assistance but also produce four academic projects each year.
The project-based curriculum helps students develop critical thinking skills; English reading, writing, and speaking; mathematics; and computer skills. With this extra support, we help students focus on graduation, higher education, and leadership.
Each year, 100% of our high school seniors graduate and enroll in college. High School Leadership Groups Leadership Groups meet weekly for team building activities, discussions, and community service. Students choose one of four groups to practice English, explore leadership, discuss personal issues, and form lasting, supportive friendships.
