Canal Alliance's Immigration
Legal Services staff provide legal assistance to individuals wishing
to reunite with families, begin working, or become U.S. residents or citizens.
Our bilingual attorneys assist over 150 individuals per month.
In addition, our staff members conduct community outreach
and education through "charlas" (group presentations) a the Canal Alliance or other San Francisco Bay Area sites.
Marin's only Spanish–language radio station
Radio Amiga (88.1 FM) broadcasts a 30–minute live interview
with a Canal Alliance attorney. Listeners learn
about immigration issues, appeals based on domestic violence, political asylum, consular
processing, tax issues, and cancellation of removal.
Canal Alliance's legal department is a lifeline to the clients we serve. Because
of poverty, illiteracy, and cultural barriers, clients are vulnerable
to being exploited by unlicensed professionals. The Immigration Legal Services professionals ensure that clients receive the attention and assistance that they need to manage these often-complex cases. |
